New Shtuffs

Ok so its official. I’m in love. With adobe after effects that is!

I have watched like every tutorial on www.videocopilot.net and i wanna do them all.

so this is my first attempt at the head exploding thing. im going to make a new one outside of the blue screen and add some extra effects i have since learned. muzzle flash, blow back, and maybe some blood splatter! as you can see i am using my new found skills for good only………

Internets!!!!

After Effects CS3

I recently had the pleasure of using the latest Adobe After Effects Software. Its frickin awesome. Havent really done much with it yet but im learning as i go. This is one thing i managed to do in our college blue screen studio (which is a joke btw!).

Thanks to Jonathan Lambert for stepping in to have his pretty face mutated somewhat. I wanted to have the Lord of the Rings going on in the background but i hadnt got access to em. Soon tho! i’m gunna try and do some more effects stuff for my portfolio showreel along similar lines, but i forgot to book out the studio today. Tomorrow! Defo. Or Monday. Whatever!

oh one more thing…………check this out. Its Jonathans music video which he directed and edited. I think is pretty cool, considering he’s got a gimpy arm like. No he doesnt really. Not yet………..

Redemption / Occupation: Thief

These are two more films i Edited. Not very exciting by any means, just college stuff. I wrote the redemption one with Colin Carey but it was chopped up to bits because we had to get it down to just over 3 mins. Which sucked big time. also I HATE the end bit where he talks about god. Im gunna put that part down to Colin.

The other film, Occupation: Thief was our first group effort of the degree course. We learned alot haha. Both films directed by Vedran Zagorac.

Defastenism

This is a Documentary i was involved in making in first year of college. The group known as “defastenists” are art students in irelands NCAD (national college of art and design) and hold themselves in hgh regard. we approached the piece with informal eyes but after many flase starts and cancellations on the groups part, we hadnt got much to work with. in the end this is the result. it went from a potentially action packed piece with many activites to a simple set of interviews and testimony from a handful of members. (directed, edited and produced by James Mulroy, Daire O Brion and Sean Sweeney)

Stick to Your bleedin Guns, wha!?

ok so im just gunna link to my work so far. i suppose the easiest way is to upload my crappy old college stuff first. this one is my music video from the diploma course, which i directed and edited. camerawork was done by kieran quigley. the band are “Stillroom” and the track is titled “Stick to Your Guns” which im sure will become quite obvious after about 30 seconds. enjoy……………..or not.
